KubeCon Europe 2026

What is KubeCon + CloudNativeCon?

KubeCon + CloudNativeCon is the Cloud Native Computing Foundation's (CNCF) flagship conference and the largest gathering of cloud native technologists in the world. Held twice annually, once in Europe and once in North America, it brings together engineers, architects, platform teams, open source contributors, and technology leaders to advance the state of Kubernetes and the broader cloud native ecosystem. For anyone building, running, or securing containerized infrastructure, KubeCon is the defining event of the year.

KubeCon + CloudNativeCon Europe 2026 took place March 23 to 26 at the RAI Amsterdam Convention Center in Amsterdam, Netherlands. The four-day program opened on Monday, March 23, with CNCF-hosted co-located events and pre-conference programming, followed by three full days of keynotes, breakout sessions across 10+ tracks, maintainer talks, lightning talks, and the Solutions Showcase.

KubeCon Europe 2026 themes and key topics

The 2026 edition reflected the cloud native ecosystem entering a new phase of maturity, with automation, observability, and resilience becoming baseline expectations rather than aspirational goals. A major through-line across sessions was the convergence of AI and cloud native infrastructure - with 41% of AI developers now working in cloud native environments, according to CNCF's own research, the event dedicated significant programming to real-world AI integration, cloud native AI tooling, and Kubernetes-native approaches to deploying and scaling machine learning workloads.

Other major themes included GitOps and service mesh patterns, platform engineering at scale, multi-cluster Kubernetes operations, software supply chain security, cost-aware observability strategies, and the emerging role of agentic AI systems - with a dedicated Agentics Day co-located event focused on MCP and agents running alongside the main conference. For European attendees in particular, Sovereign Cloud and GDPR compliance featured prominently as distinct regional concerns.

The full schedule comprised 224 keynotes, lightning talks, maintainer track sessions, and CFP breakout sessions - making KubeCon Europe 2026 one of the most content-dense cloud native events to date.

Echo at KubeCon + CloudNativeCon Europe 2026

Echo was on the ground in Amsterdam for KubeCon Europe 2026, running live demos of CVE-free software artifacts at our booth in the Solutions Showcase. For an audience of engineers and platform teams building and shipping containers every day, the message landed with particular force: when your base images and dependencies ship clean from the start, there are no CVEs to scan for, no patches to chase, and no remediation backlog to manage.

KubeCon + CloudNativeCon Europe 2026 passes and rates

KubeCon Europe 2026 offered two main pass types. The KubeCon + CloudNativeCon Only Pass covered the full three days of the main conference - keynotes, breakout sessions, and the Solutions Showcase - and included access to Project Lightning Talks on Monday, March 23. The All-Access Pass added entry to all CNCF-hosted co-located events on Monday, March 23, which included dedicated days for ArgoCon, BackstageCon, Cloud Native AI + Kubeflow Day, Agentics Day, CiliumCon, WasmCon, and more.

Both pass types were available at Corporate, Individual, and Academic pricing tiers. The Corporate All-Access Pass was priced at $2,278 USD, excluding the 21% Dutch VAT. Individual and Academic rates were meaningfully lower, reflecting CNCF's commitment to keeping the conference accessible across the community. Standard pricing was available until February 4, 2026, after which late registration rates applied - with Corporate and Individual passes at $1,798 and $978 respectively during the standard window. Pass prices ranged from $275 to $2,278 USD depending on type and tier.

All session recordings from KubeCon Europe 2026 are publicly available on the CNCF YouTube channel for anyone who was unable to attend in person. Full registration details were available at events.linuxfoundation.org.

Why KubeCon + CloudNativeCon matters for security teams

KubeCon is not just an infrastructure event. As Kubernetes has become the de facto substrate for modern software delivery, it has also become a primary attack surface - and the conference reflects that reality. Supply chain security, container image integrity, runtime protection, and secure-by-default platform engineering are recurring themes across sessions and co-located events. Security engineers, DevSecOps practitioners, and platform leads attending KubeCon come away with concrete, production-tested approaches to hardening cloud native environments.

For Echo, KubeCon + CloudNativeCon is one of the most natural fits in the conference calendar. The engineers and teams building on Kubernetes are exactly the people who benefit most from software artifacts that ship without vulnerabilities in the first place - and Amsterdam 2026 was a strong reminder of how much appetite there is for a fundamentally different approach to software supply chain security.
